Available Positions

We invite you to check this Job Opportunities page periodically, if you are interested in working for Outside Now. We may expand our programs as the year progresses, which creates the need to expand our mentor staff, as well. If all positions are currently filled, we welcome resumes and applications for potential future employment.

Nature Explorer Mentor

(Nature Connection Mentor for children ages 7-12 years)

A 3-day position (M, W, TH) is available for 2023-24. We accept applications until the position is filled. The position begins with a mandatory 2-day training retreat August 31-September 1, 2023. The first program day with children is Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and the regular. program year ends June 7, 2024. All mentors must be available for 2-hr. staff planning and training on Friday mornings. In addition, mentors select 3 or more week-long summer camps to work during the months of June and July. 

Compensation is based upon related work experience, training, and education. If you have worked in a nature-based program somewhere else in the U.S. or the world, please send a resumé and apply!


Teens in Nature Mentor

(Nature Connection Mentor for Adolescents ages 13-18)

Currently, there are no positions available for Outside Now Teen programs for the 2023-24 program year. If you are interested in working with teens, please consider applying for a Nature Explorers position now. Opportunities to move among programs are often available over time. 



Coyote Pups and Fox Kits Mentors

(Early Childhood Nature Connection Mentor for children ages 3-5 years of age)

A 3-day position (M, W, TH) for a Fox Kit mentor is available for 2023-24. We accept applications until the position is filled. The position begins with a mandatory 2-day training retreat August 31-September 1, 2023. The first program day with children is Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and the regular. program year ends June 7, 2024. All mentors must be available for 2-hr. staff planning and training on Friday mornings. In addition, mentors select 3 or more week-long summer camps to work during the months of June and July.
