TRACKERS CAMP

JUNE 10 - 14, 2024

We most often think of the ability to identify and follow the tracks left by an animal as essential skills of an adept hunter. But practicing tracking skills regularly brings unexpected gifts to everyone: a deepening awareness of the habits and needs of wildlife on the earth, a bigger understanding of how the way we live our lives affects how other life forms are free to live theirs, and a clearer knowing of how inextricably connected we are to all of the beings we track (or track us!)

During Trackers camp, we will follow the interests of the group and

  • learn the physical features of tracks and scat that aid identification,

  • play games to heighten our sensory awareness, including our “body radar,”

  • learn more about the flora and fauna the animals we track require to live,

  • develop wilderness skills to support our tracking adventures,

  • practice interpreting the story told by a series of tracks, and more…
