WAYS OF THE SCOUT CAMP

June 17 - 21, 2024

Ways of the Scout camp mentors honor the skill of those who have served as scouts, revered members of many indigenous cultures. Native American scouts, for example, live a solitary existence, traveling ahead of all others to locate the best and safest places for hunting and setting up a village camp. They are chosen for possessing attributes such as truthfulness, courage, intuition, awareness, and an innate ability to interpret the landscape. Scouts are essential to the strength and well being of their people. How might walking in the footsteps of the scout be of value to those of you who are walking through the teen years toward adulthood?

During our week together, we will

  • learn Learn the practice of walking invisibly on the land.

  • Introduce and practice the principles of scouting.

  • Introduce and practice the universal language of nature.

  • Discover inner resources of strength, resilience, and empathy.

  • Meet the gatekeepers of wild nature.

  • Build our set of wilderness survival skills.

  • Heighten our awareness skills playing stealth games!

  • Discover how honing these skills and capabilities gives hope for a better world.

Think Camouflage! Plan on getting muddy! This camp is designed for teens who want to be challenged!
